Symbol, in recent years, of a sharp but cool fashion, these flip-flops and clogs are selling so well that the German company which manufactures them, founded in 1774, was valued at 4 billion euros in 2021, year where LVMH absorbed it.
For the anniversary of three of its flagship models, the label is releasing limited editions. First, the Madrid sandal, which led to the shoe’s international success and was invented in 1963.
Reproduced in its original version, it aligns a unique adjustable leather band, metal buckle, new colors (orange, green or ocher) and cork and latex sole, the famous Fussbett, a “foot bed” whose reliefs are designed to hug soles and toes. Everything is accompanied by a red wax seal stamped with the logo, as was done at the time.
